Primary education in Bangladesh will be developed to such a standard that the country becomes a model to be emulated by others, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Boby Hajjaj told parliament on Sunday.
“The system so that Bangladesh does not have to follow anyone else has been initiated by our parliamentary leader, the prime minister,” the state minister said while taking part in the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s speech in the National Parliament session on Sunday. Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed presided.
“First, we have a vision. At every level of education, there will be career orientation and skill orientation,” Hajjaj said.
“So that in the future, no student has to wander from door to door, looking for jobs. Jobs should be created for them, whether at home or abroad,” he added.
The state minister said the government is going to implement “learning through play” for primary education.
“So that our children, aged four to 10, can receive education through play, storytelling and listening to stories, and we can ensure the hope that they come to the classroom,” he said.
Hajjaj said the government has started making arrangements for various incentives for about two crore students.
“Providing good food to every student, giving free uniforms to every student, shoes once a year, bags — everything possible so that they come to school — this government has started making arrangements for all of it,” he said.
