The Kerala Film Market has unveiled a concise yet diverse international slate for its 2025 edition, selecting 12 projects for its Project Market and introducing the first Curator’s Pick from its new Video Library initiative. The industry event will run from December 13 to 16 in Thiruvananthapuram.
This year’s Project Market spans 11 countries and 13 languages, reflecting the platform’s growing appeal to filmmakers seeking international partnerships. Among the headline selections is ‘Opodartho’ (A Foolish Man), a Bangladesh–Taiwan co-production from ‘Jalal’s Story’ director Abu Shahed Emon. The project is produced by Patrick Mao Huang, Tahrima Khan and Emon.
Other notable picks include the India–Nepal feature ‘Bagh Chal’, Devashish Makhija’s Hindi–Marathi project ‘But First’, ‘The Burning’, Farha Khatun’s ‘Error#404’, Bina Paul’s documentary ‘Kathakali Diva’, Sanju Surendran’s ‘Kothiyan’ and the Australia–India co-production ‘Mongoose’.
The inaugural Curator’s Pick for the Video Library highlights 13 films from India, Bangladesh and the US seeking festival exposure and financing. The selection includes Sandeep Paul’s ‘Ekanto Byaktigoto Bishoy’, Thanvir Chowdhury’s Bangladeshi feature ‘Kaffarah’, Anuradha Bansal’s ‘A Good Wife’ and Vignesh Kumulai’s ‘Neela Aththi Kili’.
KSFDC managing director Priyadarsanan P. S. said the curated lineup reflects the market’s growing role as a global meeting point for creators and investors. Integrated with the International Film Festival of Kerala, the market continues to expand Kerala’s status as a hub for international co-productions and film development.
