Bangladesh lost three wickets for 69 runs in 21 overs and scored at a slow rate, which limited early momentum. The top order struggled to rotate strike, which allowed Sri Lanka to control the tempo through disciplined bowling.
Nigar Sultana scored 40 from 90 balls and rebuilt the innings with controlled batting. Her approach focused on stabilising the middle overs rather than accelerating, which reduced further risk after early losses.
Sobhana Mostary then took control of the innings with 74 from 80 balls and maintained scoring through the latter stages. She balanced strike rotation with boundary hitting, which ensured Bangladesh reached a competitive total despite a slowdown after 38 overs.
Ritu Moni added 20 from 16 balls and increased the scoring rate in the closing overs. Her contribution helped Bangladesh push beyond a below-par projection and finish with a defendable total.
Kavisha Dilhari took 3 wickets for 48 runs in 10 overs and led Sri Lanka’s bowling effort. She applied pressure during key phases, particularly against the middle order, which restricted Bangladesh’s scoring options.
Bangladesh now rely on disciplined bowling and fielding to defend 213 in a match that will decide the series.
