Bangladesh’s recent T20I series win against Ireland has delivered a welcome rankings boost for several of their key performers, with Parvez Hossain Emon, Towhid Hridoy and Mustafizur Rahman all climbing the latest ICC charts.
Emon was the biggest mover among Bangladesh’s batters, rising 21 places to 38th after an impressive run of scores through the 2-1 victory in Sylhet. Hridoy also continued his steady ascent, gaining five places to join 42nd in the T20I batting standings.
There was further good news for Bangladesh in the bowling category. Mustafizur Rahman, fresh from another influential series with the ball, moved up two spots to eighth among T20I bowlers as he continues his resurgence in the format. His rise reflects both consistency and a growing ability to strike at key moments in the innings.
While Bangladesh enjoyed notable gains, the most dramatic shifts across the rankings came from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and South Africa following series wins in different formats.
Pakistan clinched the tri-series title with a six-wicket win over Sri Lanka, prompting a reordering of the all-rounder charts. Saim Ayub returned to the top of the T20I all-rounder rankings after contributing 36 with the bat and taking a crucial wicket in the final. The 23-year-old had previously reached No.1 in early October before being surpassed by Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza.
Pakistan also saw significant movement among their bowlers. Abrar Ahmed climbed four places to fourth in the T20I bowling rankings, while Mohammad Nawaz rose two spots to 11th. Nawaz’s all-round impact during the tri-series earned him the Player of the Tournament award and pushed him up three places to fourth on the list of T20I all-rounders.
Sri Lanka found encouragement despite losing the final, largely through the breakout performances of Kamil Mishara. The left-hander amassed 169 runs across four innings and surged from outside the top 100 to 18th in the T20I batting rankings, marking one of the biggest leaps of the week.
In Test cricket, South Africa’s 2-0 sweep over India produced major gains for several of their players. Marco Jansen continued his rapid rise, climbing five places to a career-best fifth in the Test bowling rankings. His efforts with both ball and bat also moved him up four spots to second among Test all-rounders. Simon Harmer was another standout, jumping 13 places to 11th after taking 17 wickets and securing the Player of the Series award.
South African batters also made headway. Kyle Verreynne moved up three spots to 38th, Ryan Rickelton climbed five places to 39th and Tristan Stubbs rose an impressive 16 places to 47th, underscoring the depth emerging in their Test squad.
For Bangladesh, the most recent rankings reflect a growing influence in the shortest format as the side prepares for a busy 2026 season. Their players’ upward movement is a timely boost in a period of transition and experimentation.
