Bangladesh U-17 produced a commanding performance to defeat Brunei Darussalam 8–0 in their second Group A match of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers in China on Monday.

The young men in red and green dominated the match from start to finish, creating numerous chances and hitting the goalpost on several occasions. Despite their control, Bangladesh could have won by an even greater margin had they capitalised on all opportunities.

Bangladesh opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Opu converted a pass from Faysal on the left flank. The lead was doubled ten minutes later as Rifat Kazi dribbled past two defenders before finishing cleanly.

In the 36th minute, Riduan set up Faysal, who calmly slotted his effort into the net. Just one minute later, Manik unleashed a powerful long-range strike to make it 4–0 heading into half-time.

After the restart, Riduan again provided the assist for Opu, who scored his second of the match in the 49th minute. Bangladesh continued their dominance and extended the margin in the 73rd minute when Faysal’s long-range shot was saved, leaving Rifat to pounce on the rebound and score his second.

Two more goals followed in the closing stages. Arif found the net in the 75th minute after gaining possession in a crowded penalty area. Bayzit completed the rout in the 79th minute with a composed strike after receiving the ball in space.

Bangladesh maintained control for most of the match and only missed out on a larger win due to a number of wasted chances and shots hitting the post. The victory further boosts their confidence as they continue their qualifying campaign.
