Bangladesh fans earned praise for their actions after the match against Singapore on Tuesday. Many supporters stayed back in the stands and cleaned the area. They picked up bottles and other trash and put them into bags. Their effort was noticed and appreciated in Singapore.
Singapore outlet CNA shared a short video on its official Facebook page. The video showed fans in Bangladesh jerseys cleaning the National Stadium. The post highlighted how Bangladeshi supporters took responsibility after the game.
The match may have been in Singapore, but the crowd told a different story. The stands were filled with red and green flags. Around 6,000 Bangladeshi fans came to support the team. They cheered from start to finish and created a strong atmosphere.
Hamza Choudhury was surprised by the support. He said, “Many thanks to everyone, Alhamdulillah. You gave us great support. Not only in the stadium, but even before that. I could not believe seeing so many fans in Singapore. It felt like we were playing at home. They are the best supporters in the world, Alhamdulillah. Best wishes to everyone and Inshallah keep supporting us like this.” Fans also came in large numbers to support players like Shamit Shome.
On the pitch, Bangladesh lost 1-0 to the Singapore national football team in the AFC Asian Cup qualifier. The team of Javier Cabrera played well for long periods. They created chances in the second half but could not score. Some shots hit the post, while others missed the target.
In the end, the fans left with disappointment after the result. Bangladesh finished the qualifying campaign with five points from six matches.
