Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named its squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Ireland. Anamul Haque Bijoy, Mahidul Islam Ankon, and Naim Hasan have been left out of the squad.
Most members from the recent Sri Lanka series have retained their places. Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy returns to partner Shadman Islam at the top, while Mominul Haque, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Litton Kumar Das remain regulars. Jaker Ali Anik has also kept his place despite mixed recent form.
The spin department will feature Mehidy Hasan Miraz alongside Taijul Islam, with Hasan Murad included as a backup option. The pace attack comprises Nahid Rana, Hasan Mahmud, Khaled Ahmed, and Ebadot Hossain.
Ireland will tour Bangladesh for two Tests and three T20Is. The first Test starts at Sylhet International Stadium on 11 November, with the second Test scheduled at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka from 19 November.
Veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim could achieve a historic milestone in the series, becoming the first Bangladeshi to play 100 Test matches if he remains fit for both games.
