Alongside transaction growth, the number of Bangla QR-enabled merchants has also expanded significantly.
According to Bangladesh Bank, merchant numbers increased from around 16 lakh on 1 July to nearly 30 lakh currently.
The central bank said private and state-owned banks have been playing an active role in expanding the Bangla QR network, which is expected to accelerate the adoption of interoperable digital payments across Bangladesh.
