Gold prices in the domestic market have decreased after a gap of just one day. The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) has announced a price reduction of Tk3,266 per bhori.
This adjusted rate became effective at 10am on Friday.
According to a press release, the decision to revise gold prices was made after reviewing the overall market situation following a fall in the price of local pure (Tejabi) gold in the domestic market.
Under revised pricing, the price of 22-carat gold has been fixed at Tk2,29,664 per bhori, which is inclusive of value-added tax (VAT).
The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk2,19,342 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk1,88,374 per bhori, and gold refined through the traditional method is priced at Tk1,53,148 per bhori.
This rate correction comes immediately after the association hiked the price of the precious metal by Tk9,856 per bhori on Thursday.
