Marvel fans are getting another chance to experience one of the biggest films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Avengers: Endgame returns to cinemas in a new version titled Endgame Encore.
The re-release will feature additional footage, a newly created introduction and, most notably, a post-credits sequence connected to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel released the first trailer for Endgame Encore on 25 August alongside ticket sales.
The 1-minute-36-second trailer revisits some of the film’s most memorable moments, including the Avengers emerging through portals, Steve Rogers wielding Mjolnir and Tony Stark’s emotional final moments.
The new presentation will be shown in the Infinity Vision format and will run for 185 minutes, according to AMC Theatres listings.
That is four minutes longer than the original 181-minute theatrical cut.
The additional material is expected to serve as a bridge between Endgame and Doomsday.
Speaking at the Sands Film Festival in Scotland earlier this year, co-director Joe Russo described the re-release as a “critical companion story” to the upcoming film.
Marvel’s decision to revisit Endgame comes as the MCU prepares for one of its most ambitious crossover events yet.
Avengers: Doomsday will bring together characters from several corners of Marvel, including the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men and Thunderbolts.
Robert Downey Jr. will return to the MCU in a new role as Victor von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom. The cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Letitia Wright as Black Panther and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi.
The Fantastic Four will be represented by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, while several stars from the original X-Men films are also returning.
Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming and Rebecca Romijn are among them.
The Thunderbolts lineup includes Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Lewis Pullman.
For viewers preparing for Doomsday, Disney+ has also compiled an official watchlist featuring X-Men (2000), X2: X-Men United, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, both seasons of Loki, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Additional viewing options include X-Men: The Last Stand, Logan, Captain America: Civil War and Black Widow for further context on returning characters.
Avengers: Endgame Encore is scheduled to return to cinemas on 25 September, 2026, while Avengers: Doomsday will follow on 18 December.
