Responding to viewers’ interest, several prominent contemporary directors are now working with the pair. This time, Arosh Khan and Fariha Rahman Paru have teamed up for ‘Ashik Priya’, a new drama directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sokal Ahmed.
Written by Yusuf Ali Khokon, the drama was filmed by HM Zaman. It was released on YouTube on August 20. Since its release, the drama has received a positive response from viewers. Besides Arosh and Paru, the cast includes Harunur Rashid, Syeda Naushin Islam, Bashar Bappi, Khan Rosne, Surya Khan, Arnil Biral and others.
Within a short time of its release, the drama had been watched by more than 1.6 million viewers. Viewers have also shown considerable interest in the drama in the YouTube comments section. More than 800 comments, in particular, have focused on the performances of Arosh Khan and Fariha Rahman Paru.
Speaking about ‘Ashik Priya’, director Sokal Ahmed said, “I have directed dramas featuring Arosh and Paru before. Their drama ‘Sefia Ronger Bikel’, which I directed, was released on YouTube recently. We are receiving a very good response to it. The story of ‘Sefia Ronger Bikel’ revolves around a misunderstanding, and the two characters reconcile right at the end. But viewers should watch ‘Ashik Priya’ to find out what its story is about. I believe this drama will appeal to viewers even more.”
He added, “I have directed many dramas with Arosh before. As usual, he is doing very well in acting now. He is constantly reinventing himself. I believe Arosh will do even better in the future. Fariha Rahman Paru is also doing well among the newcomers. I am hopeful about her as well.”
Notable dramas featuring the Arosh Khan and Fariha Rahman Paru pairing include ‘Tokei Mon Chhuye Jay’, ‘Dawat Roilo’, ‘Shudhu Tumi Amar’, ‘Iti Abir’, ‘Prem Amar’, ‘Ghumao Go Jan’ and ‘Chachchu’.
