Miley Cyrus returned to the spotlight with a rare headlining performance at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl, using the stage to challenge expectations surrounding her career and present a new chapter in her musical journey, writes Variety.

The concert on 16 October supported her latest album, ‘Bass Persuades’, marking a major live appearance after several years without a regular touring schedule. Cyrus has previously spoken about her reluctance to commit to extended tours, citing the physical and emotional demands of life on the road.

The performance brought her latest material into focus while placing her return within the wider story of a career defined by musical reinvention. From her early days as a Disney star to her evolution into a pop and rock performer, Cyrus has repeatedly moved beyond the image audiences once associated with her.

The Hollywood Bowl shows also represent a significant moment for the singer, who has described the Los Angeles venue as one of her favourite places to experience live music. She scheduled two performances there, on 16 and 18 October, rather than announcing a full tour.

Her latest album, released on 18 September, marks her 10th studio release and follows ‘Something Beautiful’ (2025). The project signals another shift in her artistic direction as she continues to explore new sounds and approaches to performance.

Cyrus’ return to the stage comes as she balances the demands of a high-profile music career with her preference for performing on her own terms.
