Argentina and Brazil both received favourable assignments for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after the full tournament draw was completed in Washington on 5 December 2025. The ceremony finalised all 12 groups for the expanded 48-team edition, to be held across the United States, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July 2026.
Reigning champions Argentina were placed in Group J alongside Algeria, Austria and first-time qualifiers Jordan, forming one of the lighter groups of the competition.
Five-time champions Brazil will face 2022 semi-finalists Morocco, as well as Scotland and Haiti, in Group C—a draw many analysts consider manageable for the South American giants.
France, England, Germany, Spain and Portugal also learned their routes, with several European sides avoiding major early threats.
