Appellate Division stays bail for Barrister Suman in dual cases

The Chamber Court of the Appellate Division on Thursday stayed the High Court’s bail order that granted bail to former lawmaker Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman in two cases filed with Adabor and Jatrabari police stations.

Justice Md Rezaul Haque, chamber judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court passed the order on Thursday.

Advocate Liton Ahmed appeared for Barrister Suman in court, while Additional Attorney General Aneek R Haque represented the state.

Suman was arrested at about 1:30am on 21 October 2024 from Mirpur‑6 in Dhaka. Multiple cases were filed against him in different police stations across the capital and in Habiganj.
