Another earthquake jolted Dhaka and several parts of the country on Thursday.
The tremor was felt at 4:15pm, according to initial reports.
European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that the earthquake measured 3.6 on the Richter scale.
India’s National Center for Seismology (NCS) has also confirmed the earthquake.
The earthquake originated in Kaliganj, Gazipur, located 22 kilometres from Dhaka, at a depth of 10 kilometres.
Earlier, on Wednesday at 3:30am, a minor earthquake was felt in Sylhet.
The tremor measured 3.4 on the Richter scale. Being a mild quake, many people did not notice it.
On 22 November, two earthquakes struck just one second apart. Both tremors originated in the Badda area of the capital.
The Meteorological Department reported that the first quake, measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale, occurred at 6:06:04 pm. A second tremor followed one second later, at 6:06:05 pm, registering 4.3 on the Richter scale.
Notably, since 21 November, Dhaka and surrounding areas have experienced four tremors. Friday morning’s quake measured 5.7 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre in Madhabdi, Narsingdi. The tremor claimed 10 lives across various parts of the country.
