Veteran Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan has once again demonstrated his remarkable work ethic, revealing that he recently completed a gruelling 24-hour work shift before immediately preparing to return to the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), states Hindustan Times.
At 83, the actor continues to maintain a demanding schedule as he gears up for the launch of the quiz show’s 18th season.
Taking to his personal blog on Wednesday, Bachchan shared that he had worked continuously from 7am one day until 7am the next, explaining that the project required immediate completion despite the exhausting hours.
“…finished work at 7am this morning… of work that began at 7am yesterday… but the importance of its presentation and its timely work was necessary… so DID IT,” he wrote.
Despite the marathon schedule, the legendary actor made time to connect with his fans through his daily blog before taking a brief break.
“I shall retire now, get some food in the belly… hit a pillow for a while,” he added.
However, Bachchan revealed that his rest would be short-lived as he was scheduled to report for the shoot of Kaun Banega Crorepati on 6 August.
Referring to the show’s upcoming premiere, he joked that missing the shoot could cost him his job.
“The first Broadcast Date for KBC is announced… and missing that would mean a job replacement for me… so off to do what needs to be done,” he wrote.
Sony Entertainment Television has announced that Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 will premiere on 10 August at 9pm.
New episodes will air every weekday from Monday to Friday on Sony TV and Sony LIV.
Bachchan returns as the host of the long-running quiz show, which this season carries the theme Sochna Padega (You’ll Have to Think).
According to the makers, the new edition focuses on the idea that in an era where information is easily accessible, success depends not just on knowledge but on the ability to interpret, connect and apply it effectively.
Beyond television, Bachchan also has a major film project in the pipeline. He is set to reprise his role in Nag Ashwin’s sequel to the blockbuster sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, alongside Prabhas and Kamal Haasan.
While the original film featured Deepika Padukone in a pivotal role, the actress will not return for the sequel after the makers officially confirmed their decision to part ways.
Speculation has linked Sai Pallavi to the project as a possible replacement, although no official announcement has been made.
The first Kalki 2898 AD became one of Indian cinema’s biggest commercial successes, grossing more than ₹1,000 crore worldwide.
With its sequel now in development and Kaun Banega Crorepati returning to television, Bachchan continues to balance multiple high-profile projects, reaffirming his enduring commitment to the entertainment industry.
