Police recovered the body of a 50-year-old American businessman named Jackson from the Westin Hotel in Gulshan-2 circle in Dhaka. Initial investigations suggest that his death was caused by natural circumstances. Jackson had been in Bangladesh on business.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gulshan Police Station, Hafizur Rahman, confirmed the discovery late on Sunday night(August 31).
According to the OC, Jackson had checked into the Westin Hotel on August 27 via the US Embassy. Concern arose when he did not order food for two days, prompting
the hotel authorities to inform the embassy and local police.
A team from the US Embassy, accompanied by the police, arrived at the hotel and found Jackson dead in his room.
Since the cause of death appeared to be natural, the embassy requested the body’s release, and it was handed over to their officials.
The U.S. Embassy confirmed that Jackson had come to Bangladesh for business and was staying at the Westin Hotel under their facilitation.
