Broadband provider Amber IT has extended its network to 400 upazilas, reaching Kaptai in Rangamati as it pushes to expand coverage to 500 upazilas by June 2027.
The company marked the milestone in Kaptai, following its expansion to Golapganj in Sylhet, the 399th upazila on its network.
It now operates its own network infrastructure across all 64 districts of Bangladesh, according to a press release.
Amber IT plans to bring five more upazilas – Mirsarai, Naria, Mirpur, Mirzapur and Bhulli – under its network by the end of November. It is also continuing to expand infrastructure in new areas while strengthening network capacity and customer service reach.
The expansion is aimed at extending broadband access beyond major cities and district headquarters to people in more remote parts of the country.
“Our goal is to make reliable broadband internet accessible to people in every part of the country. We have now expanded our network to 400 upazilas, and we plan to reach 500 by June next year,” said Amber IT CEO Mohammad Aminul Hakim.
“We want people everywhere, whether in cities or remote areas, to have equal access to modern internet services,” he said.
The company’s previous expansion milestones include Saidpur in Rangpur Division as its 100th upazila, Haluaghat in Mymensingh as its 200th and Char Fasson in Bhola district under Barishal Division as its 300th.
