The government has revised the rates of honorarium and remuneration for those engaged in recruitment and promotion activities across ministries, divisions, directorates, and sub-directorate offices.
To implement the new rates, the Finance Division issued a fresh notification on Monday outlining the updated honorarium structure.
Under the new directive, the honorarium for preparing question papers has been raised by Tk 1,000 — from Tk 5,000 to Tk 6,000. Similarly, members of Departmental Selection or Promotion Committees will now receive Tk 6,000 per person for each meeting, also reflecting a Tk 1,000 increase.
The honorarium for board members and experts involved in oral or practical examinations has been increased by Tk 1,000 as well, setting the daily amount at Tk 6,000 per person.
Meanwhile, the remuneration for checking a full written answer script has been revised upward from Tk 120 to Tk 130, and for marking objective-type scripts, the rate has gone from Tk 30 to Tk 35.
Daily hospitality costs for those involved in various stages of the examination process—such as preparing question papers, conducting tests, and evaluating scripts—have been adjusted from Tk 450 to Tk 500 per person.
Employees engaged in organizing and managing written, practical, or oral examinations will receive honoraria based on their grade: Tk 1,200, Tk 1,000, or Tk 800 per day. The head of the examination center, or a coordinator nominated by them, will be entitled to Tk 3,500, while inspectors assigned to oversee written test centers will receive Tk 1,800 per day.
The circular also specifies that only one honorarium will be paid for preparing question papers. If multiple meetings occur on the same day, participants will receive a single honorarium. However, when both written and oral exams are held on the same day, individuals may receive a maximum of two honoraria.
Additionally, the notification emphasizes that no center fee or other charges will be applicable when government schools or colleges are used as examination venues.
This is the second revision of honorarium rates this year—the previous adjustment was made through a Finance Division notification issued on 13 February.
