Al-Arafah Islami Bank began a three-day training course titled “Investment Risk Management” at its Training Institute (AIBTI) on Tuesday, with Managing Director and CEO Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan inaugurating the programme as chief guest, said in a press release.
The workshop, attended by 48 executives and officers from various branches and head office units, aims to strengthen professional skills in investment risk assessment, documentation, monitoring and Shariah-compliant financing practices to ensure sustainable banking operations.
In his address, Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan said effective investment risk management is not only a regulatory requirement but also essential for the sustainable growth of the bank. He emphasised that as an Islamic bank, maintaining safe and quality investments in line with Shariah principles and sustaining depositor confidence is crucial.
He urged participants to focus on prudent investment evaluation, risk identification, proper documentation and continuous monitoring, noting that timely and accurate assessment helps prevent future risks and operational complications.
The programme is presided over by Md Abdur Rahim Duary, Senior Executive Vice President and Principal of AIBTI. Senior Assistant Vice President SM Zulker Nayeen, Md Mazharul Alom, Assistant Vice President Md Jashim Uddin, and other senior officials were also present at the workshop.
Officials said the training is expected to enhance participants’ professional capacity and make the bank’s investment operations more structured, integrated and effective.
