DHAKA: Bangladesh’s youngest private scheduled airline, Air Astra, has taken delivery of its second brand-new ATR 72-600 aircraft as part of its continued fleet and network expansion.
The aircraft, bearing the registration S2-STE, arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), Dhaka, at 7:30pm local time on Wednesday, marking another significant milestone in the airline’s journey of growth, reads a press release.
With the arrival of S2-STE, Air Astra’s fleet has grown to five aircraft, further strengthening its operational capacity and domestic connectivity.
The aircraft is powered by the latest-generation Pratt & Whitney PW127XT engines, offering enhanced efficiency and performance for regional operations. S2-STE is configured with 72 Geven Neo Prestige seats, providing passengers with a comfortable and modern travel experience across Air Astra’s domestic network.
The airline said the arrival of its second brand-new ATR 72-600 reflects its continued commitment to building a modern, efficient, and reliable fleet while responding to the growing demand for domestic air travel in Bangladesh.
