Dr Sheikh Mohiuddin has voluntarily resigned from his position as the executive director of Ad-din Foundation.
The resignation follows recent “untoward incidents” involving child deaths at Ad-din Medical College Hospital, which had brought the institution under significant scrutiny.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, signed by Tariqul Islam Mukul, director (Company Affairs) of Ad-din Foundation, it was announced that the Board of Directors has appointed Professor Jamalunnesa to take over the responsibilities.
Jamalunnesa joins the leadership role following a distinguished academic career spanning over 25 years as a teacher in Department of Microbiology at the University of Dhaka, from which she recently took voluntary retirement.
Her academic credentials include a Master’s degree at the University of Dhaka in 1988, where she secured first class first position. She subsequently obtained her PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
