The Race franchise may be gearing up for another comeback, this time with Aamir Khan reportedly in talks to lead its fourth instalment.

According to NDTV, Aamir has heard the script for Race 4 and liked the material. He has also reportedly expressed interest in having Vijay Krishna Acharya direct the film. However, discussions remain ongoing and no official announcement has been made.

The Race franchise began with Saif Ali Khan in the lead and enjoyed box-office success. The third instalment took the series in a different direction with Salman Khan, though the film received poor reviews.

Now, after several years, the makers are reportedly looking to revive the franchise with a new leading face. If the talks progress as planned, Aamir could take over the mantle from Saif and become the new face of Race.

“Aamir has heard the script and liked the material. He has shown keen interest in the film and wants Vijay Krishna Acharya to take over as director. Things are being discussed at the moment, and if everything falls into place, Aamir could become the new face of the Race franchise,” Filmfare reported, citing a source.

If the project materialises, Race 4 will reunite Aamir Khan with Vijay Krishna Acharya after Dhoom 3 and Thugs of Hindostan.
