Three young men were killed after a motorcycle was hit by a vehicle in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur on Saturday night. The accident occurred at Nawpara on the Dhaka–Faridpur highway.
The dead were identified as Chayan Molla, 23, of Laskaradia union in Nagarkanda upazila, and his friends Nayon, 23, and Sajib Sheikh, 24.
Police and locals said the trio had gone to Bhanga on a motorcycle in the evening. On their way back, a vehicle rammed the bike at Nawpara, killing rider Chayan on the spot and leaving the other two critically injured.
Locals took the injured to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex. They were later referred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and then sent to Dhaka as their condition worsened. One died en route, while the other succumbed at a hospital in Dhaka.
Bhanga Highway Police Station Officer‑in‑charge Md Helal Uddin said three motorcyclists died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle, and legal steps are underway.
