A 3-year-old child named Tahmid Sheikh drowned in a pond in Balaiakandi, Rajbari.
The child was the son of Hasan Sheikh, a resident of Ghoramara village in Nawabpur Union, Balaiakandi Upazila.
The incident occurred at around 9:45am on Sunday when Tahmid Sheikh, unnoticed by his family, fell into a pond near their home.
Dr Jewel Rana, assistant community medical officer at Balaiakandi Hospital, confirmed that the child was rescued and brought to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
