Dhaka University student, Shahriar Alam Shammo, was stabbed to death late Tuesday night near the Suhrawardy Udyan area in Dhaka.
Shammo, 25, was the literature and publication secretary of the Sir AF Rahman Hall unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal(JCD), the student wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) .
After sustaining sharp weapon injury to this right leg, he was brought to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital by his classmates as he was bleeding continuously around midnight, according to police Inspector Muhammad Faruk. The DMCH doctors pronounced him dead.
Hailing from Ullapara upazila, Sirajganj, he was a resident of room 222 of Sir AF Rahman Hall. Shammo was a student of the 2018–19 academic session of the International Relations(IR) department.
Police is yet to identify the assailant.
