India sealed a 2-0 series win against West Indies in just over an hour on the final day, losing two wickets while chasing a target of 121 runs. The victory elevated India to 61.9% points on the World Test Championship table, keeping them at third place.

KL Rahul played a pivotal role in the chase, finishing unbeaten on 58 and bringing his series total to 192, second only to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 219. Kuldeep Yadav was the leading wicket-taker of the series with 12 wickets. This marked captain Shubman Gill’s first series win after a 2-2 draw in England.

India started the day needing 58 runs to win, having declared their first innings after just 4.5 sessions and enforcing the follow-on. The team bowled a relentless 200 overs before setting the target.

Early on the final day, India lost B Sai Sudharsan and Gill. Sudharsan, whose place at number three remains uncertain, may leave the series with questions unanswered. After scoring 87 in the first innings, he was dismissed for a loose drive, caught brilliantly in the slips by Shai Hope.

Gill appeared eager to finish the match quickly, hitting a six and a four in one over from Roston Chase before miscuing a catch.

Rahul held firm, adding two sixes to his innings, one a straight loft off Khary Pierre and the other a slog-sweep against Jomel Warrican, who had dismissed him earlier in the series.

This victory marked India’s tenth consecutive win against West Indies and their 122nd Test win overall, surpassing South Africa to claim third place in the all-time list.
