The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Dhaka (CSEDU) has announced “VisionX: AI-powered National Innovation Challenge 2025”, the country’s first national competition focused on artificial intelligence and related technologies.

Registration opened on September 19 and will close on October 15, 2025. The grand finale will be held on November 15 at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university.

The competition seeks to encourage young innovators to develop practical solutions using AI, computer vision, IoT, robotics and intelligent systems. Organisers said the event aims to promote AI research and innovation in Bangladesh while addressing real-world challenges in different sectors.

A statement from the department described VisionX as “an important step in promoting AI and innovation in Bangladesh,” adding that it will help foster the country’s transition toward a technology-driven economy.

The challenge will feature two categories, one for business ideas and another for AI-based projects or prototypes. The top teams will receive cash prizes, along with travel awards for the winners and runners-up.

The event is open to students under 27 from universities and colleges across the country.
