Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has threatened to erase Pakistan from the world map if it continues supporting terrorism.
“If Pakistan wants to retain its place in geography, it must stop state-sponsored terrorism,” Gen Dwivedi said on Friday while addressing troops at an army post in Rajasthan’s Anupgarh, according to NDTV.
The army chief hinted at a tougher follow-up to Operation Sindoor, saying Indian forces would show no restraint if Islamabad persists in “exporting terror.”
“This time we will not maintain the restraint we had in Operation Sindoor 1.0. This time we will do something that will make Pakistan think whether it wants to retain its place in geography or not,” he said.
Urging soldiers to stay prepared, he added, “If God wills, you’ll get an opportunity soon. All the best.”
His warning came shortly after Indian Air Chief Marshal AP Singh claimed that Indian forces shot down four to five Pakistani fighter jets, including US-made F-16s and Chinese JF-17s, during Operation Sindoor in May.
Gen Dwivedi said the operation was carried out with a commitment to spare civilian lives and avoid striking conventional military targets, focusing instead on terrorist hideouts, training centres, and masterminds.
He added that India presented evidence of the destroyed facilities to the international community, arguing that otherwise Pakistan would have concealed the truth.
