Confusion has arisen following the circulation of a notice by a Dubai-based visa processing company claiming that Bangladeshis and several other nationalities have been barred from obtaining visas for the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The notice, titled “UAE Visa Ban Countries List in 2026”, stated, “As per the immigration circular, nationals from certain countries are currently restricted from applying for UAE tourist visas and UAE work permits. Applications from these countries are not being accepted temporarily.”
According to the list, the affected countries include Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Sudan, and Uganda.
However, the Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi dismissed the claim. Ambassador Tareq Ahmed expressed surprise over the news, saying, “No such notice has been issued by the UAE Foreign Ministry or the Immigration Department. I personally inquired, and officials confirmed they have no knowledge of it.”
Calling the matter “sensitive,” the ambassador stressed that the notice originated from a private company and did not cite any official government circular or directive.
Meanwhile, some local media outlets reported the news prominently, causing anxiety among Bangladeshi expatriates. But Bangladeshi journalists based in the UAE said they had found no credible reports on the issue.
