The National Citizen Party (NCP) held a discussion meeting at Ikono Kumin Center in Osaka of Japan on Sunday with the participation of nearly 400 expatriates.
During the meeting, the attendees strongly demanded that Bangladesh Airlines resume direct flights from Japan to Bangladesh.
They also called for expatriates to be granted voting rights in the upcoming national election.
Additionally, they demanded easier procedures to repatriate the bodies of Bangladeshis who have passed away in Japan.
NCP leaders present at the meeting assured the participants that they would work to fulfil these demands.
NCP Chief Organiser (northern region) Sarjis Alam said, “The trial of murderer Hasina will be conducted according to a global standard that all laws and judicial systems will acknowledge.”
“We will not hold a show trial for the murderer, as Hasina has carried out extrajudicial killings of Bangladesh’s scholars, politicians, and citizens solely to satisfy her own desires.”
NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary stated, “The blood of Muslims was excluded from the 1971 constitution. For the past 15 years, those who wore beards, caps, or dressed below the ankle have been labelled as terrorists and murdered on the streets. This was part of India’s agenda, and their force in Bangladesh, the Awami League, carried it out.”
He further added, “The autocratic system established in Bangladesh was rooted in the constitution. Therefore, we must amend our constitution.”
The event was chaired by NCP Asia Representative of the Diaspora Alliance, Zubair Sardar, with speeches also delivered by Joint Chief Coordinator Mahabub Alam.
Representatives from Osaka, including Miraz, Moinul, Sourav, and Sajjad, were also present. The event was moderated by Hasan Bin Rahim.
