The United Arab Emirates were blown away for just 57 runs against India in their Asia Cup T20 2025 clash on Wednesday. The score was the second-lowest in the history of the tournament, only above Hong Kong’s 38.
Jasprit Bumrah struck first with a trademark yorker to dismiss Alishan Sharafu. Kuldeep Yadav then tore through the middle order, finishing with remarkable figures of 4 for 7. Shivam Dube added to UAE’s misery, claiming 3 wickets for just 4 runs. Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy chipped in with a wicket each to complete the collapse.
Chasing the modest target, India showed no hesitation. Abhishek Sharma smashed 30 from just 16 balls, including a huge six to kick things off. Shubman Gill stayed unbeaten on 20 from 9 deliveries as India cruised to 58 in only 4.3 overs, with 93 balls to spare.
The extraordinary win highlighted India’s superiority, setting the tone for their Asia Cup campaign from the very first game.
