Pakistan will host a Twenty20 international tri-series with Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in November, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Sunday, as teams prepare for next year’s Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
In a statement, the PCB said: “The series has been organised to provide all teams with valuable preparation ahead of next year’s World Cup.”
The competition will begin on 17 November, when Pakistan face Afghanistan in Rawalpindi. It will also mark the first time Pakistan meet their neighbours Afghanistan in a T20I on home soil.
While Afghanistan have previously featured in tournaments held in Pakistan – playing two ODIs in the 2023 Asia Cup and three matches in this year’s Champions Trophy – they have not faced the hosts in those events.
Before the tri-series, Pakistan are set to host South Africa in a bilateral tour running from 12 October to 8 November, comprising two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is.
