BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi condemned the recent desecration of a shrine in Rajbari’s Goalanda, urging an investigation into the alleged “international conspiracy” behind the incident.

Speaking at a milad and doa mahfil marking Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH) at BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan on Saturday, Rizvi decried the arson attack on the shrine of Nurul Pagol and the subsequent exhumation and burning of his body. He emphasized that such actions are against the teachings of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

“Desecrating shrines and burning bodies are not teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Fatwas are being issued to create division in the name of religion,” Rizvi said.

He further alleged that the current political unrest in the country is part of a larger international conspiracy, accusing the interim government of failing to address the situation. “There is an international conspiracy behind the so-called Tawhidi Janata. Just as Sheikh Hasina conspired to tarnish the country’s image during the BNP’s tenure, the interim government must investigate whether such conspiracies are at play again,” he added.

Rizvi also questioned the growing violence, stating, “Even during Pakistan’s rule, we never heard of attacks on shrines or the burning of bodies.”

Highlighting the Prophet’s teachings, he said, “The Prophet was a symbol of unity. Today, instead of following his teachings, we are dividing our religion into factions. If we had even slightly embraced his qualities, injustice, crime, immorality, violence, and bloodshed would have ended long ago.”
