Mohammad Mithun has been officially elected as the new president of the Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh after winning the election with 154 votes. He contested against Selim Shahed and came out successful in the race.
The election saw active and lively participation from cricketers. Many of them waited in line with great patience to cast their votes. The environment was full of enthusiasm, and players showed a sense of responsibility by making sure their voices were heard.
Mithun is well known as a player who represented Bangladesh in all formats of international cricket. He has scored 333 runs in Test matches, 714 runs in One Day Internationals, and 127 runs in Twenty20 Internationals. Apart from the international stage, he has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket. He has scored 6,968 runs in first-class cricket, while in List-A matches he has collected 6,284 runs. He has also scored 3,638 runs in T20 matches at the domestic level.
