Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Mujibur Rahman has demanded a proper investigation and trial of the brutal attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur.
Mujibur, also a former MP, made the demand while speaking to journalists on Tuesday noon during his visit to Nur, who is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
He also said the country is currently going through a critical period. Everyone must carry out their responsibilities with awareness.
“We don’t have words to condemn the way Nur was attacked and injured,” the Jamaat leader said.
“The existing laws in the country require a fair investigation and trial. If this continues, such incidents could happen to others as well. Immediate investigation is necessary for any incident,” he added.
