Sheikh Mohammad Sazzat Ali, Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), acknowledged the various challenges the force is grappling with in connection to the upcoming constituency elections.
Speaking at a contract signing event at the EPBN Headquarters in Uttara on Saturday – where new players and a coach joined Bangladesh Police FC Sazzat Ali, who also serves as President of the football club, said the team inclusion aims to bolster the squad despite police being “caught up in electoral preparations.”
He said, “We’re navigating multiple challenges as election season approaches. Yet, we remain committed to strengthening our cricket team. The addition of new talent will further empower Police FC, reports UNB.
Meanwhile, APBn head and additional IGP Ali Hossain Fakir praised the club’s global reputation and pledged that “Police Football Club will revive football’s glory in Bangladesh, driven by professionalism and resolve.”
DMP’s Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Faruk Ahmed, extended a warm welcome to all national and international players and coaching staff joining the club.
This season, Bangladesh Police Football Club has welcomed players from Brazil (2), Uganda (1), Gambia (1), Nepal (2), Bhutan (1), and an Iranian fitness coach.
