Jennifer Lawrence has spoken about standing up to film crew members who were present without approval while she was shooting a nude scene, saying she wanted to establish clear boundaries and protect younger actors from similar situations.

According to Variety, the Oscar-winning actress discussed the incident during an appearance on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast.

She recalled finding unauthorised crew members on set while filming intimate material and said she responded firmly.

Lawrence explained that she felt responsible for speaking out because less-established performers might struggle to challenge such situations.

She questioned what would happen if an inexperienced 18-year-old actress found herself exposed to people who had not been approved to attend the shoot.

Such performers, she said, could face an uncomfortable choice between raising objections and risking a reputation for being difficult or allowing people they did not feel comfortable around to watch them undress.

The actress said she wanted those involved to understand why allowing unauthorised people on set during nude scenes was unacceptable.

Reflecting on how her approach to the industry has changed, Lawrence said she has become more willing to speak up as she has grown more aware of her position in Hollywood.

She also acknowledged that actors must remain flexible when working with directors.

As an example, she recalled director Lynne Ramsay asking her to cut her hair, adopt mullet-style bangs and dye it platinum blonde for ‘Die My Love’. Lawrence said she accepted the changes as part of her work.

The actress also revisited her experience filming nude scenes in the psychological drama, in which she stars opposite Robert Pattinson.

She previously said she felt safe working with him and wanted Ramsay to have complete artistic freedom.

Lawrence also recalled declining an offer to digitally retouch a close-up that showed her cellulite. She said she saw no reason to alter the image, adding that she was comfortable with her natural appearance.

Her latest remarks highlight the importance of consent, privacy and clear safeguards for performers during intimate scenes, particularly for younger actors who may feel less confident challenging established industry figures.
