Beximco Pharmaceuticals reported a 30.9 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Tk916.08 crore for FY2025–26 and recommended a 60 per cent cash dividend, even as a pending High Court ruling has left its annual general meetings for two consecutive financial years in limbo.
The drugmaker’s net profit rose from Tk699.89 crore a year earlier, while consolidated earnings per share (EPS) increased 29.6 per cent to Tk20.17 from Tk15.56, according to audited financial statements approved by its board last week.
The board proposed the dividend for the year ended 30 June 2026, but the company was yet to schedule its 50th annual general meeting (AGM) because the preceding year’s meeting remains outstanding.
An application seeking judicial permission for the delayed 49th AGM, covering FY2024–25, is pending before the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
The hearing has concluded, with a ruling scheduled for 1 November. Beximco Pharma said it would announce arrangements for both the 49th and 50th AGMs after the judgment.
Despite the uncertainty over the shareholder meetings, the company has set 19 November as the record date for the proposed dividend.
The top-tier drugmaker had recommended a 47.5 per cent cash dividend for the 2024-25 fiscal year.
Beximco Pharmaceuticals’ standalone business also recorded stronger earnings. Net profit rose 27 per cent to Tk852.47 crore from Tk671.26 crore, while EPS increased to Tk19.11 from Tk15.05.
Cash generation improved alongside profitability. Consolidated net operating cash flow per share climbed 31.7 per cent to Tk21.33 from Tk16.19. On a standalone basis, the figure rose to Tk19.33 from Tk15.05.
Consolidated net asset value increased 16.9 per cent to Tk6,209.12 crore at the end of June from Tk5,310.71 crore a year earlier.
Net asset value per share rose to Tk139.18 from Tk119.04, while the standalone figure increased to Tk136.36 from Tk117.28.
Standalone net assets reached Tk6,083.19 crore, compared with Tk5,232.06 crore a year earlier.
