Two legendary figures of Bangladeshi cinema, Mirana Zaman and Shabnam, are currently unwell and recovering at home under medical supervision. Both actresses have asked people to pray for their recovery.
Mirana Zaman, 89, recently fell seriously ill and spent several days in hospital. She returned home two days ago after showing some improvement, but her doctors have advised her to take complete rest.
“I am extremely weak physically and even speaking is difficult. The doctors have said that various health problems can arise at this stage of life, so I must be very careful,” Mirana said.
She added that she has no plans to go outside and asked everyone to pray that she remains healthy and well.
Meanwhile, Shabnam, 80, has reportedly suffered several falls at home in recent days after experiencing dizziness, sustaining injuries to different parts of her body.
She was taken to hospital, where doctors conducted an MRI and other necessary tests before advising her to rest at home.
Shabnam said she had postponed an overseas trip because she wanted to personally receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Film Awards.
However, the prolonged wait and her recent health problems have left her frustrated.
She also reflected on the difficulties of old age and expressed gratitude to God for keeping her well despite her health challenges. She requested prayers for her recovery.
Mirana Zaman made her film debut with ‘Jahan Baje Shehnai’. Her notable films include ‘Shontan’, ‘Ora 11 Jon’, ‘Swaralipi’, ‘Shadharon Meye’, ‘Dhire Bohe Meghna’, ‘Alo Tumi Aleya’, ‘Love in Simla’, ‘Laili Majnu’, ‘Denmohor’ and ‘Opekkha’.
