Bangladesh will play two practice matches before leaving for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.
The squad will split into two teams for the matches. The fixtures and dates of the matches have not been confirmed yet. Both games will take place as part of their final preparation for the tournament.
Bangladesh also started their Asian Games camp at the Sher e Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.
Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mustafizur Rahman were among the players who joined the first day of training. However, several players were absent for different reasons.
Hasan Mahmud is yet to return to Bangladesh. He has been playing for Kent in the County Championship in England.
Players who are currently touring South Africa with the Bangladesh A team also missed the opening day of the camp. The 2026 Asian Games will take place in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan. The men’s cricket competition will begin on September 24.
Bangladesh have earned a direct place in the quarterfinals due to their ranking. They will not have to play in the group stage.
Bangladesh will play their quarterfinal on September 29. They will face the winners of Group B.
