A selfie of popular actress Shabnoor with national cricket team pacer Taskin Ahmed has gone viral on social media, prompting curiosity about how the two stars from different fields met.
The meeting took place at a family barbecue hosted at Shabnoor’s brother’s home in Sydney, Australia. Taskin, who is currently visiting the country, attended the gathering last Friday with his wife, children and relatives.
Shabnoor was joined by her brother Tamal, sister Jhumur and other family members. The informal gathering featured food, conversations and laughter and continued until 4am.
Shabnoor said Taskin’s family has known hers for years. Taskin and her brother, in particular, have been acquainted for a long time. As the cricketer was spending time in Sydney with his family, they invited him to the barbecue.
“It was a family invitation at my brother’s home. Taskin came with his entire family, and we were also invited. We had a wonderful time together, eating and chatting until 4am. Our children also enjoyed themselves,” Shabnoor said.
A moment from the gathering was captured in a selfie taken by Taskin. Shabnoor later shared the photo on her Facebook page, along with memories of spending time with the cricketer and his family.
She described Taskin as a source of pride for Bangladesh and wished him continued success and a bright future.
Taskin also posted several photos from the evening on his verified Facebook page. Thanking Shabnoor and her family for their hospitality, he wrote, “The evening and the barbecue night were wonderful. Thank you, Shabnoor apu, and your family, for hosting us so warmly.”
Shabnoor responded to his post with heart emojis.
Speaking about Taskin, Shabnoor said she feels proud when Bangladeshi cricketers perform well abroad and bring recognition to the country.
“I feel very proud when players like Taskin make Bangladesh proud through their performances overseas. It is truly wonderful to see,” she said.
