Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET) Vice-Chancellor Mohammad Iqbal has congratulated newly elected President and DUET Chancellor Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
In a congratulatory message on Friday, Mohammad Iqbal said Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was recognised as an experienced, knowledgeable and seasoned politician who had played an important role in the country’s politics and public life through his long career.
He said in a press release that Mirza Fakhrul’s election as the country’s highest constitutional office reflected national confidence in his experience, wisdom, foresight and leadership.
The DUET vice-chancellor expressed hope that the president’s prudent and strong leadership would contribute to the country’s democratic progress and reflect people’s aspirations.
He said Mirza Fakhrul’s experience and insight could contribute to the development of higher education, research and knowledge-based activities in the country.
As the chancellor of DUET, his guidance would help universities improve the quality of higher education, expand research, promote the practical use of science and technology and create innovative knowledge at international standards, Mohammad Iqbal said.
He also expressed hope that Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir would uphold the dignity of the presidency and play an important role in strengthening democracy, establishing the rule of law, promoting national unity and serving public welfare.
The DUET vice-chancellor wished the president good health, long life and success in carrying out his new responsibilities.
