Mallika Sherawat has made a rather unexpected claim about Hollywood star Tom Cruise while discussing her love life on The Traitors 2, writes The Indian Express.
A clip from the upcoming reality show has gone viral on social media, showing comedian Kullu asking Mallika whether she has ever had a crush on someone.
“Mallika ji, aapko kisi pe crush aaya hai kabhi?” he asked.
When Mallika replied, “No,” Kullu quickly asked, “Or is it always the other way round?”
With her trademark confidence, Mallika answered, “Everybody has a crush on me.”
She then surprised the others by bringing up Tom Cruise.
“Tom Cruise is crushing on me lately. I am not lying. If I had my phone with me, I would have shown you the videos,” she said.
The revelation left the others curious about what she meant by the videos.
One contestant asked what videos Cruise was allegedly sending her, while another guessed that he might be sending her snaps.
Mallika clarified, “No, not snaps. I would show you videos of us partying together.”
Mallika is among the contestants of The Traitors 2, which is set to stream from 13 August.
The actress had already hinted at her approach to the reality show in its trailer.
“In this game, you don’t have to be truthful, you just have to be convincing enough,” she said.
Host Karan Johar, meanwhile, described the world of the show by saying, “Here, trust is rare, but betrayal everywhere.”
The season features contestants including Rhea Chakraborty, Munawar Faruqui, Shweta Tripathi, Dalip Tahil and Mallika Sherawat, among others.
Mallika has also found herself at the centre of speculation over whether she could be one of the show’s traitors.
“Calling me a traitor has become a fashion,” she said in response to the speculation.
The actress has also made headlines over reports that she is the highest-paid contestant on The Traitors 2. Mallika later confirmed the claim while speaking to ETimes.
“The speculation is right. Why apologise for making money? People who say money is never the reason are lying,” she said.
She added that financial independence makes money an important consideration for everyone.
“When you’re independent, whether you’re a man or a woman, money is always important because you have bills to pay and a lifestyle to maintain,” Mallika said.
The 49-year-old actress also revealed that she had previously turned down offers to appear on Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi several times.
According to her, The Traitors was the first reality show whose format genuinely appealed to her.
