Gold prices in Bangladesh have been raised again, with the price of 22-carat gold reaching a record Tk2,24,182 per bhori.
Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) announced the revised rates in a press release on Friday, citing a rise in the price of pure gold (Tejabi gold) in the local market. The new prices came into effect at 10am.
According to the revised rates, 22-carat gold will now cost Tk2,24,182 per bhori (11.664 grams), including VAT. The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk2,14,093 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk1,83,883 per bhori.
Gold refined through the traditional method has been priced at Tk1,50,232 per bhori.
The latest adjustment marks the 89th change in gold prices in the domestic market this year. Of these, prices have been increased 44 times, reduced 44 times, while one adjustment was made due to VAT changes.
In 2025, gold prices were revised 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 reductions recorded.
Silver prices also rise
Alongside gold, BAJUS has also increased silver prices.
The price of 22-carat silver has risen by Tk117 per bhori to Tk4,724. Under the new rates, 21-carat silver will cost Tk 4,549 per bhori, 18-carat silver Tk3,907 and traditionally refined silver Tk2,916 per bhori.
Silver prices have also seen considerable volatility this year, with 55 adjustments recorded so far including 28 increases and 27 decreases.
The number of revisions is significantly higher than in 2025, when silver prices were adjusted only 13 times throughout the year.
