French Ambassador Jean‑Marc Séré‑Charlet has underlined the importance of ensuring a fair and level playing field to encourage greater engagement by European companies in Bangladesh’s aviation sector.
He highlighted the commitment of European aerospace leader Airbus to supporting the growth of Bangladesh’s aviation industry. However, both sides discussed expanding cooperation in civil aviation.
The envoy noted that deeper collaboration with Airbus would enhance Biman’s fleet capacity, strengthen Bangladesh’s aviation ecosystem, and signal Dhaka’s intent to build lasting ties with the European Union.
Recalling the longstanding France–Bangladesh partnership, he also pointed to successful cooperation between Thales and the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) as evidence of France’s continued support for modernisation of the sector.
