Community Bank Bangladesh PLC and Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) have signed an agreement allowing customers of all Palli Bidyut Samities under BREB to pay electricity bills through Community Bank’s branches and sub-branches across the country.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday by Community Bank Bangladesh PLC Managing Director (Current Charge) Shamsul Haque Sufyani and BREB Director, Financial Monitoring (Northern Region) Md Masud Parvez on behalf of their respective organisations.
Under the agreement, customers of all Palli Bidyut Samities under BREB will be able to pay their electricity bills through Community Bank’s nationwide network of branches and sub-branches.
Among those present from BREB were Member (Finance) and Joint Secretary Milia Sharmin, Controller (Finance & Accounts) Md Idris, Secretary of the Board Sharmin Mahmud, Director (Finance) Md Zia Uddin and Director (Finance) Himel Pal.
Representing Community Bank Bangladesh were Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Business (Branch) Md Ariful Islam, Chief Information Technology Officer Md Tanjim Morshed Bhuiyan, Unit Head, Corporate Banking Division Sujat Haque, Chief Financial Officer Md Shariful Islam Kadir, Head of ADC and Head of MD’s Coordination Team Mamun Ur Rahman, Tohinul Islam and Nishit Kanti Sarkar from the Cash Management Team, along with other senior officials from both organisations.
