Four students of a school went missing in Baliadangi upazila of Thakurgaon on Tuesday. They left home together in the morning to attend tuition but did not return by night.
The missing students are Srimati Khushi, 17, daughter of Manik Chandra of Sabajpur village in Charol union; Molika, 17, daughter of Bangthu Debnath of the same area; Ritu Debnath, 16, daughter of Ramesh Chandra Debnath; and Sujati Rani Debnath, 14, daughter of Akalu Debnath.
Khushi, Molika, and Ritu are Class 10 students at Sabajpur High School, while Sujati is in Class 8.
The families of the four students filed a general diary (GD) at Baliadangi Police Station around 11:30pm.
Khushi’s father Manik said the four girls left home together around 6am to attend tuition. Since they did not return by night, the families checked with the school and the private tutor, only to learn the girls had not gone there. Later that night, they went to the police station and filed the GD.
Baliadangi Police Station Officer‑in‑charge (OC) Bulbul Islam confirmed the filing of the GD. He said, “We have started searching for the missing schoolgirls.”
