Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed at various points in the capital and five other districts to maintain law-and-order situation.

According to a press release issued by BGB Public Relations Department on Tuesday, the paramilitary force has been stationed at several locations in Dhaka, including Dhanmondi, Shahbagh, Abrar Fahad Avenue, Banglamotor, Karwan Bazar, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, and Mohakhali.

This follows a prior announcement on Monday evening regarding the deployment of BGB in five districts – Cox’s Bazar, Madaripur, Sherpur, Gazipur, and Moulvibazar.

The deployment has been carried out under the directives of the Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure internal law and order remains normal and to mitigate potential security risks.

BGB members will perform their duties in coordination with the respective district administrations and law enforcement agencies.

The forces will remain on duty until 30 June. BGB personnel are currently on standby for immediate deployment to other districts across the country as required.
