The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has decided to raise gold prices in the domestic market. With an increase of Tk4,432, the price of 22‑carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) including VAT has been set at Tk230,722.
The announcement came in a BAJUS notice on Sunday morning.
According to the notice, the price of pure gold (acid gold) had increased in the local market, prompting the new adjustment. The revised rates took effect from 10am Sunday.
Under the new pricing, the 22‑carat gold per bhori including VAT will cost Tk230,722; the 21‑carat Tk220,391; the 18‑carat Tk189,248; and the traditional method gold Tk154,606.
BAJUS said the new prices will remain in force at all jewellery outlets until further notice. As VAT is included in the sales price of ornaments, customers cannot be charged separately for VAT. However, making charges will apply depending on design.
So far this year, BAJUS has adjusted gold prices 79 times — 40 increases and 39 decreases. In 2025, prices were adjusted 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 decreases.
